Prof. S. N. Bose is one of the eminent scientists of the 20th century and was the pioneer of quantum statistics of indistinguishable particles. The classes of particles obey Bose-Einstein’s statistics were named after Bose called ‘bosons’. Prof. Bose works remain contemporary in different branches of physics. The pioneering idea of Bose motivated the researchers worldwide and various new experimental findings such as, ‘Bose-Einstein’s condensation’ to ‘Higg’s boson’ carry the signature of his baronial idea. The year 2018 is the 125th birth anniversary of such a noble Indian scientist of international repute. Prof. Bose was former vice-chancellor of our university ‘Visva-Bharati’–Tagore’s dream institute. Rabindranath Tagore dedicated his only book on science, ‘Visva-Parichoy’ to S. N. Bose. Visva-Bharati delivered the highest honor ‘Desikottama’ to Prof. S. N. Bose.
To commemorate the great occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Prof. S N Bose in the Department Physics, Visva-Bharati, we are going to organize a national workshop on the recent advances in the field of condensed matter physics.
We are glad to invite you to participate in Bose-Tagore National Advanced Workshop on “Recent Advances in Condensed Matter Physics: Theory and Experiment” (NAWCMP - 2018) to be held during 3−4 August 2018 at Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan, India organized by Department of Physics, Visva-Bharati in association with S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences, Kolkata. The workshop will facilitate nationwide noted scientists and technologists to share their contributions in the recent development of condensed matter physics. You too are cordially welcome to join this conglomeration, NAWCMP-2018 by sending your scientific contribution or as a registered participant.
